VICIbox 7 - Upgrading Asterisk version 11 to v13

Postby Alex » Wed May 24, 2017 1:45 pm

Dear Team,
Please suggest a me how to upgrade the Asterisk version to v13 in VICIBox 7 & also let me know the compatibility for vicidial application.

I need this because of DIGIUM PRI card incoming call issue. The DIGIUM team is asking to upgrade the asterisk version to 13 for card driver compatibility & stability. So please need your help at the earliest.

Awaiting your kind response.

VICIdial is not yet compatible with Asterisk 13 due to the many drastic changes that were made to core functionality in Asterisk after the Asterisk 11 branch. Our current recommended version is Asterisk 11.

We are working on compatibility with Asterisk 13, we estimate we're about 90% of the way done, but there were many significant changes to Asterisk that have required rewriting core scripting within VICIdial that had been stable and in place for over a decade.

Dear Matt,
Thanks for your update. Is it possible to re-install DAHDI manually on VICIBox7. When we reboot the server, the DIGIUM card configuration vanishes & we need to recompile the card after every reboot. So DIGIUM support suggested to do the manual install of DAHDI.

Please suggest on the procedure for DAHDI MANUAL INSTALLATION on VICIBox at the earliest as I need to carry out the activity in server where it is causing issue.

It should be possible, although you should make sure you have all required source and gcc packages installed to be able to compile dahdi.

Dear Matt,
So you mean to say that the packages need to be installed or updated before compiling the DAHDI as yum install, which we do for manual/scratch installation of Asterisk/VICIdial?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, there are prerequisites for compilation on a system that are not needed for dahdi/asterisk to run, like gcc and the associated libraries.

Hi Team,
I'm having difficulty in compiling the DAHDI on VICIBox 7.0.3 with the above mentioned link. Request you, if you can send the procedure to compile the DAHDI.
