OpenSuSe 11.3 Repositories Dead

Hi Guys,

Good news today!
OpenSuse 11.3 http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... SUSE_11.3/ has been added back. Many thanks to the Opensuse Repository Maintainers.
A couple of weeks ago I had also problems with this repository with my Vicibox 3.1.15 installation, thanks to Kumba I still had a successful Vicidial installation. But doesn't stop me since I know other Vicibox users will have a problem. That is why i get the email address of the Repositories Maintainers and shoot them an email wishing if they could somehow keep the said repository. They are very generous, they allowed my request. Many thanks to the Opensuse Repository Maintainers.

Now, all Opensuse 11.3 repositories are working

We are talking via email and they are very kind. the link supposedly be up and running last night but they've said that OBS was really busy at that time so it takes up to now to put it online.

i've got their contacts via Opensuse forums, I posted a topic there and one admin said that I should ask for permission to the repo maintainers. here are the contact details of the maintainers https://build.opensuse.org/project/user ... extensions

Hi Vicidial Administratos,

Do u happen to know that this repository http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... l/openSUSE for Vicibox 3.1.15 is DEAD? i am trying to install Vicibox 3.1.15 but somehow receives errors and unable to install Vicidial Server. I double check all the repo on the Vicibox 3.1.15 and somehow manage to find that this is the only repo that has been dead.

I would like to ask if for any chance u had a copy of this repo? or you guys somehow have this file and we could maybe redirect to that new link?

I am thinking of posting again ]a new topic on OpenSuse forum but thought of asking first Vicidial group since the said repo has home:vicidal on it

no for newbies like me how are we to install if the repositories are not reliable? for me a vicibox install is a challenge as it is. If I have to figure how to add what has been missed by the repositories I would be inclined to find an older version that uses ubuntu (assuming those repositories are still up)

the repositories are only for updates to the installed packages already present on the CD. You can safely disable repository updates and have a successful installation. But in this case it would appear you have re-entered a repository incorrectly, and would probably do better just reinstalling clean to get a correct install.

The ubuntu install is very old. I do not know if it is still viable (but I preferred the Ubuntu install to the present one myself, PoundTeam is hoping to publish an Ubuntu Classic version this summer ... if all goes well). I do not know if we'll be able to bring ours up to the level Kumba has achieved, but I've had enough requests for the Ubuntu version to make it worthwhile. Quite popular, it was.

which means we can't restore the filesystem at all.

Most stuff is copied somewhere else, but restoring it from
scratch can take easily a day - we're talking about several TB.

For now I redirect download.o.o to widehat.opensuse.org, which
won't be able to hold the load for long - but it's better than
spitting errors.

And it seems to me, you are a linux newbie, too. Maybe you should install a PBX on Windows Go try that and then come back ;-p

All of the Repo of OpenSuse 11.3 is working until now. so Vicibox 3.1.15 installation will push through

Hi guys! I'm running Vicibox v.3.1. Some weeks ago, unfortunately, we had an incorrect maintenance and the kernel was updated wrongly. Right now, we are looking for a way to downgrade the kernel, and some others packages, but the old Vicidial Version repository directory was removed (openSUSE 11.3). Is there any other mirror in some place that I can to download the original packages? I'm using ViciBox_Redux.i686-3.1.15. Anybody have any idea? Thanks a lot!

Back up your database and fresh install with the same vicibox version and disable repository and OS updates during the installation. Then you can upgrade to the matching SVN level, reinstall your database and you're up.

OR fresh install with 4.0.3 (which should be compatible with your SVN revision level) and use the method described above.

OR fresh install with 5.0.3 and after you restore the DB ... UPGRADE the DB to match the Vicidial revision level and you'll have a fresh system with a completed upgrade.

CONFIRM the database backup (by installing it in another mysql server!) before you reinstall. Seriously.
