Hello,
we've got about 8 vicidial servers in clustermode, standalone webserver, standalone database.
now we bought a new dell server which has driver problems with opensuse 11.3 (vicibox 3.0.5).
i customized database, extensions.conf, many scripts of vicidial and added scripts of course.

is it possible to install vicibox 4 and delete all scripts/extensions.conf and copy the scripts from the old version (customized script of old version)?

i cannot lose my changes or made all my changes in the the vicibox 4 again - too much work (-:

thanks for help
regards
philip

confusion ensues:

standalone webserver, standalone database is NOT clustermode ... so ... is it that you have a cluster of 6 and two disjointed servers?

or are you saying that you have a cluster which includes a clustered server being used as a web server (only) for the cluster and another server being used as a DB (only) for the cluster?

but I digress:

yes it is possible to transplant a vicidial server from one version of OpenSuSE to another. The "full backup" will bring everything you need as far as I've experienced. Your best bet would be to use vicibox 4.0.3 to add a whole new server to the cluster (new IP, everything) but be sure to match the Vicidial SVN revision level during install. Then you can copy the custom modifications from your other server(s) over to match your customizations and the revision level will already match. any files not "custom" can be left alone because they'll already match.
