Please post your installation method (could be important on a question like this).
How did you dial the number? Agent pressed Resume and the autodialer for the campaign dialed it? Or In a logged in agent's Vicidial Screen? Or straight on the soft phone or IP phone? If your call was manual dial from an agent's screen, there is a setting for manual dial callerid in the campaign. If you dialed straight from a phone, the phone's callerid may be used (although you have an older version, so you may need to upgrade for that to work ...).
Consider upgrading. 2.4 has many new features and 2.6 has even more.
