Lift Outbound Call Limits of 100 calls simultaneous

Postby expit » Tue Mar 08, 2011 5:17 pm

Can someone point me to instructions on how to increase the number of simultaneous calls from 100 to a greater number?

1) Always post your Vicidial Version with Build

2) That would be a limit contained in the Admin->Server definition

3) Have you read the Vicidial Manager's Manual? (EFLO.net, free or paid, I recommand you purchase the big one if you're actually USING this software to make money, you'll save more than you spend, guaranteed!)

NO! You do not want to change Max Calls per Second to 100, your carrier will probably freeze your account if you do. That should not be over 20, and should usually be around 4 or less.

The Max VDAD Trunks is the field that you can increase to get more simultaneous calls on your system, if your hardware can take it.

And as Matt pointed out, it is your CARRIER who must also be involved in this process. If you change the max simultaneous calls to 100, but you are only allowed 20 by your carrier, you will get "congestion" and your vicidial will assume all the overage calls were "no answer autodial". Be sure you know how many max simultaneous calls your carrier allows (and max calls per second is a good question to ask while you're on the phone with them).

If you use different carriers and write a diaplan to flow the calls to the next carrier when you fill up each carrier, or rotate calls among them to bring each up proportionally, that works very nicely.

There are sever dialplans published here and on other asterisk-type forums to rotate calls and to roll calls to the next carrier by limiting calls.

There are also some interesting controls in Vicidial's Admin->Servers setup to limit calls in various situations. This usually gets a bit complex, however, and there's no "one-size-fits-all" solution. The book on that topic would be fairly large. Thus, a deep description of your situation may be in order OR you could search the forums for existing solutions until one fits your needs precisely.
