failed recordings

Postby ticoit » Sat Apr 25, 2009 11:28 pm

I keep having some problems with call recordings on my vicidial box.

The message I get is:

/usr/bin/soxmix: Failed reading /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-in.wav: WAVE: RIFF header not found

xxxxxx...x is the file name (campaign+leadnumber+otherinfo)

This happens for extensions using ulaw and g729. Not all recordings have this issue.

My vicidial box uses:

Asterisk 1.2.27

soxmix: Version 12.18.1

All extensions are SIP and termination provider uses SIP too. Let me know if any more details are required.

Vicidial: (it occurred with 2.0.4 too)
VERSION: 2.0.5-173
BUILD: 90320-0424

CentOS 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5 #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 09:19:18 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Dual Intel Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz stepping 06
4GB RAM
RAID 1

Any ideas?

The rest of the box works just great, this new version cuts the overall load on the servers and the new phones/trunks/DIDs/etc web UI tools are great.

Thanks

Do you have automatic mixing of recordings enabled in the dialplan?

Do you have space on your drive left?

Does this issue happen when only using ULAW and not G729?

Matt, thanks for the quick reply. This is what I currently have:

tmpfs 1.7G 0 1.7G 0% /var/spool/asterisk/monitor

from dialplan:

exten => 8309,1,Answer
exten => 8309,2,Monitor(wav,${CALLERIDNAME})
exten => 8309,3,Wait,3600
exten => 8309,4,Hangup

It happens both with g729 and ulaw, although we currently are running only with g729.

Also from the campaigns setup I have:
Campaign Rec exten: 8309
Campaign Recording: ALLFORCE
Campaign Rec Filename: CAMPAIGN_CUSTPHONE_TINYDATE_EPOCH_AGENT
Recording Delay: 10s

Thanks.

What crontab settings are you using for recording mixing/compression/FTPing?

Currently I have:
Code: Select all
0,3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36,39,42,45,48,51,54,57 * * * * /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_1_move_mix.pl
#0,3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36,39,42,45,48,51,54,57 * * * * /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_1_move_VDonly.pl
#1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22,25,28,31,34,37,40,43,46,49,52,55,58 * * * * /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_2_compress.pl --MP3
#2,5,8,11,14,17,20,23,26,29,32,35,38,41,44,47,50,53,56,59 * * * * /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_3_ftp.pl --WAV

If I am not mistaken I only have enabled the -in and -out mix of the .wav files into the complete full .wav file. Is this correct?

Are you doing any recording outside of the ViciDial agent application?

No, only that. If I check the condition of the -out.wav file it is ok, the audio is there. But the -in.wav is broken.

comment out the "mix" crontab entry and use the AST_CRON_audio_1_move_VDonly.pl entry instead

Matt, seems that it worked well. I will check on the recordings at the end of the day.

Thanks
