Autodial Error due to local channel

Hi All,

Have been troubleshooting Autodial calls disconnecting immediately after client answers and agent never gets the call. I checked over the forums and can confirm issue am facing is dur to local channel. Manual , Inbound working perfectly and even a VM on same LAN does autodials perfectly only cant get Prod install to work. Not a scratch install.

Asterisk 1.4 hasn't been supported in years, there are quite a few SIP carriers that have issues with it now. I would recommend upgrading to Asterisk 13 where this issue no longer exists.

While I concur with Matt, I would also like to ask about your firewall issue. Vicidial is designed to block calls from agents if there's no chance of talking to a client. If sound is not yet being transmitted, there's NO reason to send the call to an agent. Seriously. Autodial calls and Manual and Inbound calls are generated differently and a configuration issue CAN cause there to be a firewall issue. Especially if the different call types have different carriers associated.

We did have (on our wayback machine) a solution that would break Vicidial (technically) but allow these calls to complete ... by assuming sound was already working and just passing the call to the agent anyway. It was a very popular solution for about two months when there were many issues like this that wouldn't resolve any other way.

If it works, it would even prove that your firewall wasn't the issue (since you'd be having conversations on outbound autodialed calls with two-way sound). If, however, you use The Fix from a decade ago and your agents do not get sound ... it is likely a firewall issue of some sort.

But even if it does work, I'd recommand a fresh install on a newer version of Vicibox/Vicidial that will also get you a supported version of OpenSuSE. lol

If you skip to that now, you can avoid the necessity of learning all about Vicidial 2.0.4 and how to fake a live call and concentrate on the inevitable OS upgrade/reinstall. Find a version of Vicibox that you like (8.0.1, 8.1.2 or 9.0.3), each of which has a different version of Asterisk and OpenSuSE, and go. Any will install the latest Vicidial OR run the version you're already using. I would suspect that in the near future, asterisk 1.2 and 1.4 and even 1.8 will no longer work with Vicidial. Too many changes in 12 years.
