Error - Sorry, there are no available sessions

Postby carpenox » Wed Apr 08, 2020 7:50 pm

Good evening everyone,

First of all, thank you for adding me to the forum. I have installed vicidial using a scratch install which I understand is not suggested on CentOS but I couldnt get it working on OpenSuSe because I am trying a test run on a virtual server before purchasing a dedicated one. I used this install method: https://anwer.home.blog/2019/05/23/vici ... terisk-13/ along with some added tweaks from different forums and the managers manual scratch install for centos 6.5. So vicidial is running with no problems as far as the web interface goes and adding the needed things, I have added a campaign, leads, sip carrier, phones, users, the whole nine yards, I am not new to vicidial, I have been an administrator of it for over 5 years for a few different call centers in Florida. I am not a novice, i am pretty well inclined when it comes to IT, since that is what I do, career wise. I will admit I have limited experience on linux but I am learning, currently back in school for my BS in CS. :) Ok so the problem now: I am getting the error message in the topic, "Sorry, there are no available sessions". My guess is that it has something to do with asterisks because of the VPS which I have tried two different ways, both on an EC2 and on Lightsail I cant seem to get asterisk-perl module installed. Although on a different instance of EC2 I can get asterisk working and running, but not the vicidial interface, LOL I cant win. Im hoping maybe im wrong about the box running vicidial interface since everything appears to be working perfectly fine except for when users try to login to make calls(which get the error, but I can see them logged into the campaign). Also there is leads in the dialer, but the campaign wont actually make any calls. Below are the versions installed for each.

CentOS 7 1901-01 via AWS Lightsail and EC2
Vicidial 2.14-748a build 200406-2319 from SYN Revision: 3220
Asterisk: asterisk-13.17.2-vici
mysql: Ver 15.1 Distrib 5.5.64-MariaDB
perl: (v5.16.3)
PHP 5.4.16

Final question, worse case scenario, is there a scratch install for opensuse to install everything manually without being able to load a cd image?

Thank you for taking the time to read all that, hopefully Ive provided enough information. Ive tried the centos and asterisk forums attempting to get help trying to go from the ground floor up and nothing.

Image

This is the vicidial running, You can see the leads are loaded, the user gets logged in but they actually dont on their end, they get that error. Any suggestions would be awesome.
And even still, should leads be getting called or at least loaded into the hopper at this point?

Image

Should there be channels running on the server?

Vicibox.com's .iso installer works perfectly on virtual hosts. No reason to use a different installation method virtual vs hardware install. This applies to Virtualbox and VMWare as well as vSphere and Proxmox. Even cloud-based virtual servers will work if they will allow you to boot from an uploaded .iso image to perform the initial installation.

But if you can't get your virtual platform to allow you a custom .iso boot, just use VirtualBox or VMware on your laptop. You may only be able to handle one call at a time, but the system will be identical to a physical server otherwise ... from install to everything else. Identical except capacity.

and then perhaps you can concentrate on "how to use" and get away from "how to install" much faster. You do not need to become a Linux Engineer to run Vicidial (if you install with Vicibox)!

My advice is the same as bbakirtas ... reinstall. For one thing, since the installation is free and fast with Vicibox's .iso installer, getting used to the installation will make you MUCH more comfortable with the system. Less magic and more "I can start over in 60 minutes, so no big deal".

ok, so what company do u suggest to use that will allow me to load a custom iso?

I was looking into rackpsace.com for a dedicated server or is there a better solution that is suggested?

and as far as virtual hosting, is there a program similar to daemon tools for windows that i could use on opensuse? is there anything like daemon tools for linux/?

My goal would be SOOOO much easier with something like daemon tools, but for linux.

Thanks for your suggestions fellas

The company where I work will lease you a virtual Vicidial for $50/month. Not recommended for production (well, not for more than one or two calls, we do have clients using them). But excellent for auditing the system, development, testing, etc.

As for some other company's hosting services, there are hundreds of them and I don't know which ones will allow you to install from a custom .iso or not.

If you have an old PC laying around, just install on it. It doesn't need to be a hefty machine. We've run it on PIII and Celeron processors for tiny call centers, but if all you need right now is Proof of Concept to build one out and prove it'll work with a single agent (presumably so you can get the funds for a more robust server ...), then any old PC will do, really.

I'm not sure why you want to run a virtualized server inside a linux OS. I'd suggest you just overwrite the linux OS with a Vicibox install. Or with a vSphere install (which is free if you find the proper license). Or run VMware or Virtualbox in your workstation (if one is available for your workstation). We don't run workstation virtual servers at all, we run only dedicated virtualization hosts these days (with 40 cores each).

you appear to have an installation problem. but you have not posted the .iso installer with full version and/or installation instructions used. so we have no way to guess what may have gone wrong.
