If I delete a lead in list that does not need to be called in that list any more, will this mess up the reporting? In what way if so? Should I be setting a particular status for a lead instead? Looking for a best practice in vicidial.
Thanks!

No need to delete. Calling a lead isn't merely "because it's in this list". For a lead to be dialed (which never happens by accident), it must:
* Be in a live list
* That list must be in a live campaign (with an active agent, ready to take calls based on campaign settings)
* Have a status listed in the "Dial Status" list of the campaign
* Be in a time zone that is active according to the Local Call Times value for the campaign (IE: We don't call a prospect at 2AM, it's not conducive to profits)
* NOT have been called since the last time the list was reset
* NOT be omitted by a "lead filter" (slightly advanced topic, but worthy of note: For instance you can omit a state or last names starting with "J", or anything else that occurs to you).
So a Best Practice answer is: Just set the status to something indicating WHY you shouldn't be dialing it. That creates a nice pigeonhole of prospects who fell into this category in case you ever change your mind regarding this group. No limit on the number of groups. That's also what the "System Statuses" (and "Campaign Statuses") are for: So you can offer the agent the opportunity to choose this status at the end of the call.
Then you DON'T put this status in the "Dial Status" list for the campaign and this lead will NOT be dialed, even after the list is reset. But you'll still have all the data gathered regarding the lead, and it will still be linked to all logged activity.
