survey/hard line dialer setup

Postby dreedy » Wed Nov 22, 2017 12:47 pm

Hello All,

We current run a dialer setup and my configuration is posted in the footer of the message. We are looking to setup a new dialer that would be our 4th dialer of the cluster. we want to use this dialer specifically to do survey or to have a hard line from a T1 connected to it in case we have an issue dialing through our Voip carriers. I have a spare server that can be used for this but i have not used the T1 for any dialer needs and want to make sure of the proper equipment to purchase to use for the T1 that i think i have 4 to 10 spare lines i could run to this dialer.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

For best results, we recommend getting Digium T1 cards.

Would that kind of card take the whole T1 or could i just use 4 lines of the T1?

If you are going to hook the actual T1 up to the dialer, then you need a whole T1 card, even if you are only getting fractional channels from it. If you already have a channelbank you are running the T1 into and then have analog channels coming out, you would need a different card, although we do not recommend using analog channels like that with VICIdial due to it's horrible linestatus reliability.
