Custom export templates
Posted: Sun Apr 30, 2017 9:56 amWe currently have a lot of different campaigns for different clients who all have a different set of custom fields. On a weekly basis we have to make exports of records and also a summery of the campaign.
The difficulties we have to deal with are:
-When using the export calls report the headers of the custom fields don't show, this has been discussed in these forums before, i know the reason is that each list allows for their own set of custom fields. But who actually uses that. For years now and after many many campaigns we always have multiple lists within each campaign but every list has the same set of custom fields. Would it not be better to make custom fields campaign based instead of list based? Also making a copy of the custom fields every time you make a new list creates unnecessary work and risk. When making the export we have to download one of the lists just to get the headers and copy them over in excel to fix the empty headers. Not really user fiendly!
-When exporting it's always the fixed set and order of fields from vicidial. About 70% of the standard fields we don't use (a lot just contain system information). This means we have to remove a lot of columns every time we export and also change the order and maybe the header title
Is there a way to create an export definition for a campaign that allows you to select which fields are exported? That would save a ton of work.
