no screens

asterisk is started but ..
screen -r
There is no screen to be resumed.

why am I not getting screen loaded? What is supposed to be starting screen?
I am trying v.2 trunk now.

the ADMIN keepalive perl scripts that should have entries in your crontab are the ones that start the screens.

Do you have screen loaded?
