Translation of admin site to Brazilian Portuguese

Postby marcoe » Wed Feb 24, 2010 2:01 pm

Hi all, is anybody there translating the admin site to Brazilian Portuguese ? It seems the only avaliable translation to this language is to the client site.

I'd like to help with the translation.

Thanks.

Nobody is working on that that I know of, if you are interested in starting, please work from the 2.2.0 releases and read the wiki:

Ok, actually before posting this I was reading the wiki and just downloaded the SVN tool to look around.

I will get started as soon as possible, and will send you the file when done.

Another question, the agc translation was done by a native speaker or by a machine ? Just in case it needed a revision.

The initial Brazillian translation was done by a native speaker, but the updates have been done by machine in just Portuguese, so please feel free to update that one if there are better translations of some of the phrases available.

Yes, almost done. I think it will be over next week. But I guess we will need help to test it.

I'll let you know when it's ok to test.

Thanks

Postby jacobju » Sun Nov 07, 2010 10:55 am

Guys, somebody got finish admin translation in pt-br to the 2.4 version?

Marco, foi você quem fez a tradução da versão 2.2 existente no repositório?

Matt, why the ./install.pl --language=XX option does not work?

2.4 version has not been completed yet, it is still in development.

You can look at the TO BE TRANSLATED file to see what needs to be translated so far, but more will be added before it is branched off.

As for the translation utility, you need to use the build_translation_www_files.pl script

I've translated parts of 2.4, but as 2.4 is a work in progress it is hard to keep up, but I could send an updated translation file if you want, but as matt said, you need to run the build_translation_www_files.pl script to create the new translated web site.

Another note on that to matt, I've found out that the reports are out of the translation file, so I added translation to some of them, is that ok ? They worked for me.

Thank you guys!!
Is it possible to keep the admin side on one language but give users the option to switch languages on the front end?? I'd like to keep the admin side in portuguese, but give users the option to choose between spanish, english and portuguese.
Thanks for any help!!!

Yes, that is what the welcome_languages.php script is for.

IF you've downloaded the languages to their appropriate folders, after compiling them, of course.
