khomp gateway setup

Postby dreedy » Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:54 am

Hello i have run through the walk through on the Khomp gateway pdf. i have setup my test server to run on this. I have everything set as according to the pdf. there is one step that i am not sure how to accomplish. The next to last steps states that
In the khomp_api_user setting change API_USER to the username of the API user you created
in KHOMP:

how do i go about setting up the khomp API user and password. also is the KHOMP server FQDN the webserver of vicidial or is that off site at KHOMPS servers?

ok ive never used khomp, however you need to setup the api thru them, id imagine you have a login portal for them, and the fqdn would be the server for vicidial

Its just a login and password for the KHOMP device that is an API user. Good luck getting KHOMP to work though... worst experience ever. They are too busy trying to sell the device then set it up.

KHOMP AMD is a brand new product, it is very complicated, has a lot of settings and it is a very different experience compared to the old defunct Sangoma CPD product.

That said, it is much more configurable than the CPD used to be, and KHOMP is much more dedicated to it than SANGOMA was to CPD, so hopefully the support and configuration complications will get better over time as it matures. We just helped a client set it up last month and they are happy with the end result after a few configuration issues.

I noticed the khomp_admin page, is this to integrate it into vici?

Yes, the VICIdial code to get it to work with KHOMP AMD is all built in to the svn/trunk codebase. If you want to use KHOMP then you have to contact them directly to get the software and a license for the hardware you install it on. We have helped a few companies to set it up on their systems, since it can be pretty complex, although there is a PDF document we wrote that goes over all of the necessary steps,

I'm not aware of KHOMP directly offering SIP termination services. They are a Brazilian company that primarily make SIP gateway devices.

Matt, is the Khomp FastAGI_log.pl updated for use with Tiltx?

I was looking at the code and I dont see the Tiltx update.

cp /usr/src/astguiclient/trunk/extras/KHOMP/FastAGI_log.pl /usr/share/astguiclient/FastAGI_log.pl

If I copy the KhompFastAGI_log.pl, I will lose the Tiltx?

And also, the agi-VDAD_ALL_outbound.agi that is to be copied from Khomp is up to date also, looks like the original has newer coding.

We have not had the chance to update the KHOMP-specific scripts recently. It is on our list of unfunded projects, so hopefully we'll get to it in the next couple of months.

The KHOMP scripts do not have the TILTX features or most of the other enhancements we've made in the last 18 months included in them.

How much are we looking to fund it?

I have 3 clients that want to use it, and also Tiltx is going to start offering it as an add-on to their termination.

If you will do the testing of the new code, it would probably only take an hour of dev time to complete the updates on the two affected scripts.

We have updated the system to svn 3527, followed the steps in /docs/KHOMP_Documentation.pdf, and have removed the #UC# from both /usr/share/astguiclient/FastAGI_log.pl and /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/agi-VDAD_ALL_outbound.agi

Manual dials work, calls seem normal.

With Autodial, the calls go out, the calls are answered by 3rd party, the calls show on the realtime screen as waiting but are never sent to an agent.
