1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) Do you refer to the sound heard by the agent or the customer? If you want the agent's phone to ring, that would be an "On-Hook Phone". If you want the client to hear ringing while waiting for the agent instead of MOH, use a ring-tone MOH sound. If you want to replace the "bing" on an inbound call with a "ring", there is a setting for this in the ingroup settings if your version of Vicidial is recent enough (you didn't post your version so I can't tell you, have a look in the ingroup settings!).

4) Happy Hunting! 8-)

Ring tone heard by whom? Agents making an outbound manual dial call? Clients calling in to the system?

When a client calls Vicidial, the call is immediately answered and the call is sent to the configured location within Vicidial. There is no ring, thus no "ring-tone".

If you configured the call to go to an Ingroup, there can be a "welcome" message and/or Music on Hold. If the call is configured to go to a Call Menu, there is of course the Menu Audio.

So the question is, when a call arrives on a DID in your system, where do you have it configured to go?

Change the length of the welcome message ring. Also check your OnHold configuration, as this can block the call from getting to an agent for several seconds (just below the welcome message filename is the OnHold feature set).

Hi,

In in-group settings, make these changes..

Welcome message filename- ring (any audio with a ringing sound) (Put this audio around 9 seconds longer)
Play Welcome Message: Always
Music On Hold Context: (select your MOH)
On Hold Prompt Filename: (any audio below 9 seconds) (You can also leave this blank)

Agent Alert Filename: (use any small audio ~5 seconds for agent alert purpose)
Agent Alert Delay: 6 Seconds

Also set allow alerts=1 for every agent.

__________________________________________

When a calls comes in, the caller will listen ringing sound, after ringing sound plays for 9 seconds the server will look for an available agent. MOH will play until an agent it free. As soon as you have a free agent, the agent will listen the agent alert audio (instead of Ding) and he will also get a popup of incoming call. Agent will have the time of 6 seconds to answer that call.

Perhaps you should try listing your settings and/or changes and any error responses you are getting. From "no success", we really can't determine the problem.
