Tollfree Timezone Issue

Postby Raine22 » Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:06 pm

We're experiencing problems uploading leads that have toll-free numbers. Although we have the postcodes, the time zone isn't matching correctly. When using the lead loading feature on the admin page, the time zone aligns correctly, but when updating using REST API it doesn't follow the correct time zone based on the postcode. Should we update any specific vicidial column to follow the postcode TZ?

Hi. We have already arranged this before the leads are loaded.

does the mapping look correct on the list for GMT zones?

the exact method of upload would be useful each upload method also has one or more settings related to time zone. are you uploading with the admin interface or the Vicidial Non-Agent API or the command line uploader?

Have you re-verified that the lists into which these leads are being loaded still have "postal code" as the TZ method? And that the postal code for each lead is actually correct? Have you matched the postal code in the TZ postal code table to be sure the value is not only "matching up" to the lead but also correct?

You CAN run the nightly TZ script manually to see what is happening after setting an individual lead to the correct TZ. This may tell you whether it's the nightly script screwing up the TZ or something ... else.

Consider uploading ONE lead and tracking the TZ from upload all the way through the nightly script run (manually, of course, nobody wants to wait until tomorrow for the testing to complete).

Beware running the TZ script while dialing. It will disrupt. Before/After production or during a break.

FYI, related to this, you can populate NANPA Toll-Free areacodes when you run the back-end populate script(and choose what timezone they go under by default). You can also populate test areacodes like 999:

Code: Select all
# /usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_area_code_populate.pl --purge-table --debugX --NA-toll-free=-5 --NA-test=-5 --help
allowed run time options:
  [-q] = quiet
  [--test] = test
  [--debug] = debug output
  [--debugX] = extra debug output
[--use-local-files] = Do not download files, use local copies
[--load-NANPA-prefix] = Only loads the special NANPA list into the database
NOTE: NANPA data must be purchased from 'http://vicidial.org/store.php'
[--load-zip-cities] = Load the optional USA Zipcode-Cities data into the database
[--NA-toll-free=X] = Load optional USA-Canada toll-free areacodes into the database with X as the offset
NOTE: for Eastern time, set X to '-5', for Pacific, set to '-8', etc...
[--NA-test=X] = Load optional USA-Canada testing areacodes(999,998,997) into the database with X as the offset
[--purge-table] = Purges the table to be inserted before inserting
